Three contrasting parks without changing rooms: Tarangire's elephants, the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara.

A compact northern circuit with short drives. Both nights are at the same mid-range lodge in Karatu, so there is no packing and unpacking between parks.

Morning pick-up from your Arusha hotel (or Kilimanjaro Airport by arrangement). Spend the day in Tarangire's river valley and swamps, looking for elephants, lions and the park's many birds. Overnight at Karatu Classic View Lodge.

After breakfast, travel to Lake Manyara National Park. Drive through the groundwater forest of Lake Manyara National Park to the lake shore below the Rift Valley wall. Return to Arusha in the afternoon for your onward journey, or transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport. End of services.
