Lush forests, crater lakes and Mount Meru views just outside Arusha.
Arusha National Park is a small but diverse park at the foot of Mount Meru. It features lush forests, the Momella Lakes, and the Ngurdoto Crater, offering a very different landscape from the savannah parks.
Close to Arusha town, this compact park covers Mount Meru's slopes, the Ngurdoto Crater and the Momella Lakes. Giraffes, buffalo, colobus monkeys and flamingos are common.
It is one of the few northern parks where you can canoe and walk with a ranger, making it a gentle first or last day.
