Everything you need to know about getting a visa for Tanzania — e-visas, visas on arrival, and requirements.
Most visitors to Tanzania need a visa. The good news is that the process is straightforward.
E-Visa: The easiest way to get a visa is online through Tanzania's official e-visa portal. Apply at least 10 days before travel. A single-entry visa costs $50 for most nationalities and is valid for 90 days.
Visa on Arrival: Available at major airports and border crossings. However, we recommend the e-visa to avoid queues. You'll need $50 in cash (US dollars, post-2006 series).
Requirements: A passport valid for at least 6 months, a return ticket, and proof of accommodation. For some countries, a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if arriving from an endemic country.
A multiple-entry visa costs $100 and is recommended if you plan to visit Kenya or other neighboring countries during your trip.
